General Description

Ruissalo is a scenic island right off the coast of Turku. Its long sandy beaches and rocky capes are excellent places for fishing for sea trout and whitefish. The island is part of a national urban park and offers stunning scenery in addition to fishing.

Fish Stocks and Fishing

The best seasons are spring and autumn, when sea trout and whitefish are actively moving near the shore. The area also offers good opportunities to catch pike and perch. Fishing is best done by wading and casting a lure or fly.

Rules and Permits

Fishing requires the national fisheries management fee. The nature conservation areas of Ruissalo have their own restrictions, so always check the current rules before you start fishing.
