Merimasku Straits, Naantali

General Description

The Merimasku area in the Naantali archipelago consists of several islands with narrow, flowing straits between them. These straits are excellent fishing spots, as the flowing water attracts predatory fish to hunt. The area is popular among boat fishermen.

Fish Stocks and Fishing

The area is particularly known for jigging for zander and large perch. The best spots are the deeps and ledges of the straits, where fish ambush their prey. You can also catch pike in the straits, and in the autumn, even sea trout.

Rules and Permits

Fishing requires the national fisheries management fee. There are often speed limits for boats in the straits, and special caution should be exercised in the narrows.
