Overview

Haukivesi is part of Greater Saimaa and offers stunning scenery and diverse fishing opportunities. The fragmented and vast nature of the area requires good local knowledge or a chart plotter.

Fish Species and Fishing

Pike and zander are the main target species in Haukivesi. The large open areas and the edges of deeps are excellent places for trolling. Jigging also produces good results. Landlocked salmon is a rare but possible catch.

Rules and Permits

The fisheries management fee is mandatory. The Linnansaari National Park area has its own rules and restrictions, which should be checked in advance.
