Hammonjoki River
Lahti, Päijät-Häme
The Hammonjoki River gets its water from the Salpausselkä ridges and flows into Lake Vesijärvi. It is one of the few rivers in the Vesijärvi catchment area where brown trout reproduce naturally. The river is especially well-known among fly fishers for its brown trout population, although the most common catch is rainbow trout. Fishing is possible year-round, as long as the water remains ice-free.
