General Description

Halistenkoski is a restored and accessible rapids area in the Aura River, about five kilometers upstream from the center of Turku. It is a popular and easily reachable spot, well-suited for families and beginners. Catchable-sized rainbow trout are regularly stocked in the rapids.

Fish Stocks and Fishing

The main target fish is the rainbow trout, which is regularly stocked. Thanks to this, a catch is almost guaranteed. The area also has a natural population of trout and grayling, but they are rarer catches and often protected.

Rules and Permits

Fishing at Halistenkoski requires a separate day permit, which can be purchased online or from nearby sales points. The national fisheries management fee may not be necessary if you only fish within this permit area. Always check the current rules and permit conditions before you start fishing.
